CEO to Retire; Chief of Clinical Operations Promoted

Sue McGatha Retires from Samaritan Behavioral Health

Sue McGatha, President and CEO of Samaritan Behavioral Health, Inc. and Vice President of Behavioral Health for Premier Health, will be stepping down from her Samaritan Behavioral Health role on September 2. Sue’s VP role will be transitioned during September and Sue has graciously agreed to stay on with us until September 28.

Sue joined Good Samaritan Hospital in 1985 as an adolescent mental health therapist in school-based services. Sue led team efforts to start the first Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit in Montgomery County at Good Samaritan Hospital and later oversaw the creation of Samaritan CrisisCare and Samaritan Behavioral Health, Inc. Under Sue’s leadership behavioral health services were also expanded to Preble and Miami Counties.

Sue is highly respected for her expertise and compassion by her peers, employees, and throughout our region and the state. She has served on numerous boards and committees through the years, engendering greater understanding of mental health and addiction as brain disorders. We wish Sue and her family all the best in her future endeavors. To say she will be greatly missed by her staff and this community is an understatement!
